A proper Shotgun.

Well I've seen some weird and wonderful things purporting to be shotguns here, mainly with their barrels mounted wrongly or half finished by only having one barrel fitted. :shock:

Some of then even have plastic on them, what an abomination. :evil:

So just in case visitors here think this forum is a freak show I thought I'd put up some pictures to remind us all what a proper shotgun looks like.

It looks like a fine shotgun Dromia, but I have to ask, that nasty swirly rusty pattern on the barrels, can it be polished out? Maybe get a small angle grinder on it or give it a nice blue/black finish.

Aye, that's what can happen when you let the grandchildren use the thing to hit a ball with - gets covered in sticky toffee sweaty fingerprints that cause rust.

The kids have obviously been playing with this one as they've knocked the wooden bit (for hitting the ball with) about 90 degrees out of kilter.

I'd completely forgotten about paper caps for guns: can you still get them or have they been improved by making them out of plastic now?

Plastic caps were the death knell for the cap gun. :(

That's a lovely gun.

If anyone has an old, battered (in proof) side by side hammer gun, that they want rid of, I'm looking for one, I don't think I can afford one like Dromias!

Anything on the 'up' side of wall hanger would do me fine.
