Re: Never tell me it cannot be done, the M54S LSR rifle
I will raid my bolt rack at work and see if we have any. Not sure we will in that pitch. What grade do you need? 10.9 / 12.9??
When I got my Walther KK300 I replaced a lot of the bolts with ones from our rack at work. It came with some nasty quality ones.... Shame when you spend over 2 and a half grand on a rifle and find cheap nasty bolts!

Either will suffice although 12.9 is preferable. Ideally 12-20mm if I can be choosy. They must be fine though.

A solid days work on the manual mill and here it is, right now it is some 20 grams under my target weight, however I need to swap out the butt plate, shorten the lower tube, add some fixings and find some 25mm M6 Fine thread cap heads to hold the receiver in place correctly instead of using the original action screws.
I also need to add that Kydex cheek piece when the material arrives. Am I going to hit target? Well of course I am as I have spent a fair amount of my life lightening things and the transition to carbon fibre rear tubes would do the job in an instant however where is the fun in that? I also need to add the receiver number to the chassis so they are married.
Final job is zero it, shoot it, get a feel for it, change anything that feels wrong and then strip it for paint. Apparently the colour is to be Cerakote Duck Egg Blue and we have a chap in Louth who does laser etching so we can get some text or something on the side.
So there you go, a 50 + year old rifle in a new stock, designed and built in a Chapel in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Apparently I need to put it on the Vikings FAC so she must be happy with it.

Now we just need outside to dry out a bit so we can test it.

I did buy enough of the 40mm tube for three systems. The rest came out of the oddments bin and off the material rack.
