I talked to Colin at Fultons about this and apparently since the programme, they've had loads of calls from people saying that if they can do it for Johny Vaughan and his mate, what about letting us have ago. The answer was NO and the reason that the Mud Men were allowed to is that allegedly, the Firearms Act exempts 'actors' from using live Firearms in the production of films or programmes.
Sad that we can't get to use heritage weapons like the Bren in it's country of origin whilst so many other Europeans and Americans have access to those very same weapons.
Perhaps it would be a good opportunity for the cash strapped Government to make a bit of dosh by holding controlled open days where you could book, pay and go along to fire your favourites. I guarantee, every day would be sold out.
