The IET has a webinar about track and trace apps tomorrow.
To stop the spread of COVID-19 and enforce social distancing practices, governments are reaching out to various companies to use app-enabled geolocation features, facial recognition solutions and other technologies.

On 28th May join us for a needed conversation on the balance between public health and privacy. http://ow.ly/emky50zNKU2

Wouldn’t worry me, my data would be just lost in the masses they collect, pretty sure there’ll be plenty of others who’d be far more interesting and attract attention.
You really think that eh - how nice.

Living in denial is never a good idea - what about those you associate with directly or exponentially...The main point is WHY should you have to prove it! Why should you have to be spied on 24/7/365 to prove YOU have done nothing wrong - or so you may think for now.

Now the test track people are working on your "PASSPORT" for testing and eventual (and compulsory by any other name) vaccinations!

The NHS test & trace app will not run on my I phone 6 as its firmware is too old. I can't be arrsed to waste time trying various work rounds to put on newest version, Tech is supposed to save time not waste my time fixing it.

I noticed the article didn't include raised figures for suicides. There must be thousands of people already prone to suicidal thoughts in 'normal' times that have been placed right on the edge due to isolation / job loss/ financial problems. Yet when have you seen a public announcement on television catering for these people?

I find I'm really irritated by the latest Save The NHS adverts the government are putting out - they've been undermining it for decades.
I also find the "look them in the eyes and tell them you're doing all you can to stop the spread of Covid-19" adverts jarring.
They feel like a distraction exercise - to place responsibility and the guilt for the consequences of our incompetent government's handling of the crisis onto the shoulders of the public. I believe the term the cool kids are using these days is 'gas-lighting'.

I agree 100% about the ads, scare stories, and harrowing accounts about lost loved ones etc., but a certain section of Joe Public ain't helping, either...........

True, but I don't think these are the kind of people that will be reached by adverts.

We had a gypsy funeral in our town a few weeks back. Hundreds attended. They parked vehicles both sides of the residential road - trapping people in their homes as they had parked across their driveways. And of course, grief stricken travellers felt obliged to use their low brick walls as toilet seats - openly sh.....g into their gardens. The police did nothing as their culture is protected. As ever the local news took a blind eye approach.
