As above, I’m filling the forms in and through reading all the similar posts it looks like I might as well apply for my shotgun license as well, the gun club I’m in has mentioned starting practical shotgun shooting soon but what calibre/bore or gauge do I put on the license?
Any advice welcome
Paul

Re: Applying for FAC and shotgun license
It is NOT a licence - it is a Certificate.
As you do not possess any shotguns at present, there is no requirement to list any on the SGC application. For the FAC - assuming you are adding a S1 shotgun, then 12 bore/gauge is all that is needed.

Re: Applying for FAC and shotgun license
Yes it is a good idea to do both together. That was the SGC costs you £2.
If it is a standard section 2 shotgun you do not have to list what calibre you want on your cert. An SGC is global and gives you the right to buy any shotgun covered under section 2 (as long as you can store it safely).
If you want a section 1 shotgun that will go on your FAC then as Polchraine said above.

Re: Applying for FAC and shotgun license
I doubt your licensing department will give you a Sec 1 shotgun until your club has the facilities in place for practical shotgun. That's assuming your club hasn't started yet because they haven't got the PSG area built/ready.
