Scope mounting No1 Mk1
Hi all, I'm planning on popping a scope on No1 Mk3, it's a parts gun so I'm not trashing anything historic. Not that I'm planning on drilling or tapping. I'm looking at the [url]S&K insta mount[/https://www.brownells.co.uk/INSTA-MOUNT ... -794001111] and wondered if anyone had any experience of them and how they fit. If I could see any pictures that would be helpful.
Many thanks in advance

I haven't heard of any no-drill scope mount working with any real success on a SMLE.

I'm not convinced the correct rifle model/description for mounting has been given in that advert.

as above, can't see it fitting an SMLE and a no4/no5. almost everything you could mount from is different
When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns
Re: Scope mounting No1 Mk1
Someone on one of the US centric Lee-Enfield forums asked the same question about that S&K mount on a SMLE just a month ago, and pretty much all the responses were along the lines of don't waste your money, been there, bought that, threw it in the bin afterwards.
Drilled mounts are the only option for a SMLE I'm afraid.

So if I was to drill and tap, what would my options be? Are there mounts out there?

Can you not just use the original iron sights? A random telescope on a military rifle just doesn't look right to me.

Hello
Found these two options for the SMLE on the internet, one is non gunsmith and the other one is drilled and tapped, not expensive around $50 plus postage.
Only "PROBLEM" they are located in the USA and many companies will not deal with UK buyers, you could try and you may get lucky.
