The for sale forums were intended to take personal deals off the main boards as Full-Bore uk is to discuss shooting not turn into the Exchange and Mart.

We don't do sponsorship and the forums are add free, dealers could swamp these forums with their stuff and that is not the kind of forum we want to be.

To accommodate dealers we started the Vendors and Innovators forum for dealers that wanted to discuss things with the members and offer their wares for sale. People who used the V&I forum were able moderate their own forums as well. The only caveat was the same as we have for the members, six months of inactivity and you get de-activated.

The V&I forum was moribund with all the dealers being over the six month of inactivity so when the last Vendor was inactive for over six months the V&I forums were closed as there seemed to be no demand from the Vendors to use their sales space.

So some one coming along now and posting in the personal adds section is breaking the rules as they aren't allowed commercial posts in the for sale.

It was use it or loose it and they lost it , 'twas their decision as the voted with their feet.

the forums' really in trouble if only one person (op in this case) is ever allowed to reply to stuff.

it wasn't even that snidey, or rude, it was more a statement. a bit like when you ask your parents why when they tell you something and the answer given is 'because I said so'... it's not snideness, it's just is because it is.
