Re: Looking for a Kar98a / G98 / or uncommon 7.92 Surprise me
Hello
The Portuguese Viguero split receiver rifle was originally a 6.5mm long rifle and was altered to 7.92mm in an attempt to modernise their military.
It has a very short stock, and if not careful when handling the bolt, it seems to just come apart in your hands, and is the very bugger to get back.
I had one many years ago and if you think the K98 recoil is bad this one is something fierce.

Hello
The Persian Mauser as its called was a contract Mauser in rifle and carbine versions, produced by the Brno factory around 1938 they were produced for the shah of Persia's Royal guard, and bore his Royal Lion crest on the receiver, all the markings are in the Persian Farsi script.

It is a Persian rifle so the rear sight would be marked in Farsi numerals.
We use Western Arabic numbers which are derived from Eastern Arabic numbers which in their turn came from Devanagari (India) numbers.
