I tried to find a video on youtube, but lots of videos of people on a firing point, none of the actual target that they're shooting at.

Essentially a "Castle" with multiple windows or turrets that a target appears for short periods of time at random exposures for you to engage. 10 rounds or so in little over a minute. Good fun.

Usually shot at 200 or 300 yrds.

The target is a "wall" with various apertures "windows"

It is a timed shoot with the target "Huns head" appearing randomly at one of the the windows for a 3 second exposure, there is anything 'tween a 5-20 second delay 'tween exposures. The course of fire is over ten exposures.

There is a 4" circle centered 'tween the eyes, hits within the circle score 5 points, hits anywhere else on the target score garner you four points.

Many clubs shoot Mini Mcqueens scales down for indoor and small bore ranges.

Or at least that was how it worked when I used to shoot such things.

Further to the above, the McQueen's castle has 9 'holes' or 'windows'.
After two sighting shots you get ten 3-second exposures of a Fig14 at a random window, you need to find the target and shoot it in the 3 seconds from 300yds.
Shooting position is prone supported and there are many different classes of rifle you can shoot it with.
Great fun and quite testing.

Then there's the mini McQueens which is the same CoF but shot with 22RF from a bench and at a distance of 50yds.

Thanks, for the summary.
That sounds kinda fun. Also reminds me a little of the target ranges you used to see in 1980's action movies. "Tacklebeerrrryyy!!!"

One of my clubs shoots motorised mini-McQueen events with rimfire at 50m - lots of fun!

There's a discipline missing......"Precision Plinking", for those of us who like to tinker, and often end up with rifles that are very accurate, but that seldom comply with any of the competition rules.
For example, see attached pic. This is currently wearing it's 31" 6BR barrel, IOR scope, and weighs in at 10.3 kg.

Can't seem to add to it - guessing as it's a really old thread which has just been resurrected.

Been shooting .22LR Benchrest for 2 yrs.

Joined here in Oct 2022 and looks like I'll have an FAC in the next 2 weeks lollol

Just collating reloading equipment.

Looking forward to starting: McQueens, Long Range Benchrest, and F-Military.
(I can do all these with the same rifle).

Next year maybe even Underlever and Classic Military.

Very excited ...
