Hello
Don`t know if this is something new to you all, but I have found a perfect product for protecting the rifle muzzle from ingress of muck and moisture.
Rubber thimble's, they come in an assortment of colours and sizes and cost very little on eBay.

Re: Rifle rubber muzzle protectors
Hello
Love it chuckle chuckle;
The Germans issued 4 rubber bore protectors with each K98, but I suppose in the heat of combat it was easy to forget they were on and just shot them off this owing to the rarity of originals.
