Browning BLR 308 81 Carbine with 1x4 IR red dot scope.

#1 Post by drone »

Nice BLR, comes with Nikko Stirling Boar Eater 30mm 1x4 widefield scope, a new, spare Browning Mag - 4 round capacity + 1 in chamber. Scope is mounted on Low Talley Rings and the original steel one piece browning mount for 1" rings comes, too. This can be adjusted for windage at the mount. £500 + RFD etc.
The gun is in good + overall condition and operates very smoothly and quickly.
It is much more accurate than I am, it likes either 130 Barnes tsx or 180 grain PSP handloads, it's also partial to 175 grn gas checked cast boolits. TBH I've used this gun more with cast than not.
The scope was recently bought new for the gun for driven boar as was the extra mag, between them and importing the Talley mounts, they cost about £425 and the scope has only been on one field trip. I've reached the top of the hill age wise and am now on my way down the other side and simply want it off my hands so, regrettably will not split the items. £500 and I'll arrange RFD at your cost plus a petrol contribution as the RFD is some way from me. Or you can pick it up from me near Dover.
As I've already mentioned, it's more accurate than I am and, with enough field based practice, it's possible to rattle off 9 shots accurately and pdq, including changing the mag.
It likes Sako and Federal 308 factory ammo but I've not had any great success with 7.62 ammo. I normally hand reload for it using an RCBS small base die and the aforementioned projectiles.
It has provision for mounting a sling but note the cheek raiser isn't coming with it. In the image, the scope mounted is a zeiss diavari 1.5x6 the scope being sold with the gun is in the box.
