Screw thread identity ?

If you are making it or modifying it, repairing it or restoring it, it goes in here.

You really need a thread measuring gauge. Any idea if it’s metric or imperial or something weird?

It's probably 3/16 something.
Need more info like thread pitch.
Thread pitch gauges are ideal for this or its possible to get it near enough with calipers
Once you have the Thread pitch ,buy yourself zeus chart booklet.
It list lots of engineering stuff. look for thread that matches the diameter ( 3/16?) And the thread pitch.
It's probably available online.just see what thread matchs the 3/16
Or do a search on Internet by entering 3/16 by the Thread pitch ( what ever it is).
It will come up with the name of Thread

I inherited both the Zeus booklet and a thread pitch gauge very useful when trying to find what thread is the screw. If the screw is modern then the usual suspects are either metric or American. Older and British then it's good luck working it out, British bicycle thread anyone?

Hi Dirtbag
Just a though if it's an imperial thread it could be 2BA 0.01850" (4.70mm) 0.0319" pitch, but as mentioned above thread gauges are the way to go.
