Programme tonight of one of the Top Welsh FB-TR shooters who passed away in August 2011. Pleas watch this memory of a gentle giant in our fantastic sport. Doubt there will be any shooting mentioned but you will see some of his best pieces of work in film & TV!

If you knew him please feel free to leave your good memories of him! :wales:

I knew JHD as a good friend. A man with a wicked sense of humour and teller of amazing stories. I was the secretary of a Rifle Club that JHD was a member of. When it came to subs renewal it was pointless asking John to post the money to me as his reply was if you know where I live come round and get it. I knew so went inperson to collect. John was having a party for some of the show-biz types and I spent a very nice afternoon in the company of Joanna Lumley, Richard Briers and Felicity Kendall.

A Lovely man and deeply missed.

I remember my first overseas trip with Wales to Sennelager, Germany for the European Long Range Champs. Still being quite new to FB Shooting at the mid to higher levels I thought I was better than I actually was. I didn't make it onto the team and felt really down to the point that I didn't go to the last breakfast of the trip because I was slowly packing my things and reflecting badly on the trip. It was JHD who came back to see if I was ok and offer some kind words of wisdom and support, I'll never forget that trip and his kindness! If only more people and managers were like him!
