Richard Milner Ltd Webley info
I sent off to Richard Milner for a photocopy of the sales receipt for my pair of Webley Mk4 .38s. I got it today, they were part of a 600 revolver shipment to the Metropolitan Police district, New Scotland Yard on December 22, 1955. What a nice Christmas present that sale was for Webley! Price was 10/2/6 each and they paid 3/10 each for the crates which could be returned for credit. Given the condition of this pair, it looks like they weren't even fired let alone barely carried while in the department armory. All in all it is money well spent. A nice addition to the revolvers!

I have very little interest in hand guns these days however i would give one of those house room, lovely looking things.
Do you have a specific entry on your licence for each pistol or can you just keep buying them as and when you spot something you like?

The latter. The only requirements are to possess a handgun safety test card (waived for current or retired law enforcement or currently serving or honorably retired military (me)), pass a background check for each purchase, wait 10 days before taking possession, and buy no more than one a month. There is a bewildering maze of regulations for what type of handgun can be sold in the state with what features...it is real Alice-in-Wonderland worthy stuff. The good news is that handguns older than 50 years of age are considered only fit for collecting and escape a lot of the restrictions but still require the steps I mentioned at the beginning.ovenpaa wrote:I have very little interest in hand guns these days however i would give one of those house room, lovely looking things.![]()

So not as easy as some States then? It is good to hear there are some restrictions in place. UK perception is you can buy a full auto machine gun in America with no more than a driving licence and the more I read the more I realise this is far from the truth.
