Hi everyone
Hi boys & girls,
I've just moved back to the UK after living in the US for a few years. I would give you a list of everything I shoot but suspect that like many of you, I shoot anything I can get my hands on ! I used to shoot at Bisley and kept my membership whilst away so that will be home for me.
I have had to leave a few toys in the US for trips back there like this one below but its a good excuse to tell the wife I need to buy some more

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome to the forum again, are you going to concentrate on any particular discipline or opt for the have fun and make noise option
Re: Hi everyone
When you suck at shooting as much as I do, having fun and making noise is often the best thing
I haven't really defined 'disciplines' as such because I'm not that familiar with what options there are.
In the US, I mainly shot IDPA handgun and precision rifle matches. I might be mistaken but think the nearest equivalent to this is CSR in the UK for large calibre and gallery rifle for .22 ? Most precision (more tactical) matches in the US employ movememt, barricades, unkown distance, incline/decline or other unusual/unstable positions, steel targets, cold-bore, moving targets and occasionally in teams with spotters and land navigation etc. I can't say I ever won or even came close to winning anything but it is a lot of fun and often involves a weekend of shooting and a good night out. I hope to go back several times a yr to keep it up if i can afford to. I am told WMS Steel Challenge might be a good place to shoot ie not a square range. Is that right ?
One thing I def want to take up is clay pigeon shooting. I only did a little of this in the US but really enjoyed it and can only improve. I did have a look through some websites on practical shotgun (never done that) and believe i need to attend a course but I think i'd like to watch a match or two before making a decision on that. It looks a lot of fun.

Welcome
The UKPSA runs the UK IPSC 'chapter' for practical shotgun (PSG), gallery rifle (including Long-barrelled pistols) and mini-rifle competitions, they also organise 'proper' pistol matches in Northern Ireland. PSG matches are also put on by individual clubs and another organisation http://four4islands.org/
If you want any info regarding PSG feel free to drop me a PM or start a thread, i'll witter on about it for as long as you'll stay awake

Interesting to see the flash from the ejector port every so often on the 9mm Mark.
