Mine - I've had it since 1976 but not shot it all that much as it is a bit unpleasant to shoot. Another firearm that is more attractive to carry than to shoot.

I do agree, they are good looking rifles however they can be a bit spiteful on the range.

Poor quality photo of my lovely Number 5 carbine. And I do really enjoy shooting it. Note the long butt stock (thanks 'rearlugs'.)

have in my collection an Ishapore refurb of an original No5 still in .303". It is one hell of a shooter and was my go to gun for the CQB competitions.
What does CQB mean please.?

Very nice! I should just put a #4 butt on my #5 and maybe I'd enjoy shooting it more. A #8 butt would be even nicer! I have one on a quasi target #4 in 7.62mm and it makes a world of difference for comfort and control.

I found a L marked Long Branch #4 butt in my pile o'stuff and slipped it on my #5. It is noticably longer than the issue butt on the #5. Looks odd but should be more comfortable to shoot. I'll give it a try next weekend. Anyone have a #8 butt that they can part with? That would be even nicer on the #5.

In the stock market CQB means Chiquita Brands and in this context it is where the competitors throw bananas at each other!
