Basically they are only the old pistol COF with timings altered.

I thought i'd read somewhere that they were thinking about altering the distances the comps are shot at as most clubs only have 25m ranges,or did i just imagine that.

No, you didn't imagine it although ten metres is a little close for slug!

You don't have to shoot any 'recognised' course of fire of course.

I have always said that we are constrained only by the rules of safety and our own imagination.

Make one up!

At present I attend some of the shoots in Carlisle - about 60 miles (or 90 minutes) from me
Jeez, you must drive even slower than you shoot :55:

I didn't write that - silly - it was Mark.

He lives sixty miles from Carlisle; I live nearer six hundred miles from Carlisle.

It was ME that wrote about living 60 miles from Carlisle!!

Yes - the roads ARE that bad from East coast to the West - if you are not driving on a bend you are going up/down a hill - A7 being one "option"

...the slow shooting was down to a bad batch of reloads....honest

Hi all,

a few points of note from the NRA rep ( me):

1) the NRA is the governing body for target shotgun ( the TSa is just a club)
2) the rulebook will be out shortly once is is passed by the Trustees ( apologies for taking 6 months to write it but at least i didnt take 6 years..)
3) a number of the events will be the same as the GR&P versions of the old pistol events, and yes they will be shot at 25m max since it is absurd to set the distances at 30m when the majority of clubs only have 25m ranges
4) The NRA has run and subsidised TS events for a number of years, it now stands on its own 2 feet after some streamlining. All are welcome at them

for more details or help contact me targetshotgun@nra.org.uk

That IS on the cards

The club I am now in is about to open a new gallery range in Fife.
From the get-go it is S.1 shotgun rated...so I WILL be doing some shoots/stages there - plus LOTS of practice! (& reload testing, etc.)

At present I attend some of the shoots in Carlisle - about 60 miles (or 90 minutes) from me - so the new Fife range will be a big bonus
Have seen wads on the range at JSPC. Tell me more about this club in Fife
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
