Vepr 12 is a top shotgun and I am sure it is one of the best ak variant in terms of quality. The only reason why I did not buy one was because of its 27" barrel; I have held it and with that muzzel break it felt huge. I was considering (still am) to buy it, get the barrel shortened to 24", get the barrel threaded for chokes and get custom chokes made. All in all it would be £2000 and the rest. I just have a soft spot for the Vepr 12.

Mag fed shotguns are sweeeeeeet, but i just can't get away with how big the barrel looks on AK platforms like this or the Saiga, plus as has been said, they're massively overpriced :bad: The AR-15 alikes are better but they don't have the mag capacity at the moment.

I had a look at the AKDAL one mentioned on the tube and it looks like they do different mags for different length carts, also seemed to have a few feed issues, looks interesting though.

The Vepr is a proven Open division shotgun & is used a lot by the competitors from Germany, Russia & CZ Republic, but the price is certainly high for what you get.

The Akdal is perhaps better value for money, Ron Flint from Phoenix Shooting Club nr Horsham is bringing a number of these in to the UK & can be found over on the four4islands forum, this thread & a few others on there will give you a good idea of whats available now, larger 15 round mags are also coming in.

Still baffles me; the overall length restrictions on shotguns vs rifles.

Talk to Griff at C&G Antique firearms, they have the VEPR and an M4/AR15 semi-auto shotgun, it's really nice.
