Re: .45 ACP case dimensions
With the relative scarcity of .45ACP in the UK today, to get any sort of meaningful results may be a bridge too far.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: .45 ACP case dimensions
Found some 45 ACP in the garage and had a quick measure up for you....
Case rim in mm Federal - 12.014mm, 12.0396mm, 12.0396mm, 12.0396mm, 12.065mm. Average 12.0396mm diameter
Winchester - 12.090mm, 12.0396mm, 12.065mm, 12.0396mm, 12.065mm. Average 12.05992mm diameter
CBC - 12.014mm (sorry, I could only find one)
All the above cases were brand new and unfired.
Measured in Imperial with Moore and Wright Micrometer and then converted to metric....
Hope this helps.

Indeed it does, ooman, indeed it does. Quite a variation in size between just those few brands.

Re: .45 ACP case dimensions
Hmm.. a few more CBC would have been good however it does demonstrate a slightly smaller rim size with Federal which is interesting.
Thanks Mat

Re: .45 ACP case dimensions
Very interesting indeed. Small enough, ovenpaa, or do we need to shrink 'em a bit more?
