That's a very good point actually. I think all the factory 7 shot M2's in the UK are of of the fixed mag variety (Anybody know *why* Benelli chose to do this!?)

You can get this changed for a standard M2 mag tube by a gunsmith, and bolt an extension kit on the end. Some people have had success with taking a hacksaw to the standard fixed tube...Personally, I'd either go for an M2 without this fixed mag..

I think it's a fixed 7 shot mag. My plan would be to get a gun smith to hack and thread the tube so I could add a extension

A friends dad is a holland and holland gun smith, he does most of my work for next to nothing so that's not to much of a issue

OK if you can get that work done on the tube and it ends up being reliable then I don't see you'd be losing much by not having the comfortech stock. You can always fit a recoil pad as I did which probably makes more of a difference anyway!

I believe Benelli offered the fixed 7 shot mag to be able to sell that particular version at a price point. I ended up taking off the fixed 7 shot tube and then buying the standard Benelli 5 shot tube (which is threaded) and then adding a Nordic extension. So I didn't save any money in the end!

In short, this is not the gun you're looking for...

Keep the search going for exactly what you want. If you don't, it'll haunt you.

When a S/H practical is a couple of hundred quid more, nah, I couldn't live with it...

This model can be converted, as mentioned the mag tube will either need replacing with the standard 5 shot version & then add a proper Nordic extension or you can cut it off carefully leaving just enough thread to screw the extension onto.

The only issue with cutting it off is that if its done badly you will get hangups as the follower & spring passes any gaps between the tube & any added extension.

Also you may think the comfortec stock is not worth having, I say it is, there is a marked difference in recoil between the two & possibly the lack of it on this gun associated with the magazine tube issue is most likely the reason its back on the market at the price it is.

If its going for £600 its not a bad deal, I picked up a second hand comfortec stock for around £100 on the internet last year for a project I was working on & you could replace the existing tube & buy a nordic extension for another £125 meaning the gun would be good to go for around £825.

Then its up to you if you want any other go-faster bits, personally I would add a larger safety button & bolt release as well & get the carrier fork welded up.
