As this thread is the first I've heard of the issue, and I was talking to Mike Eveleigh at BASC just before 6pm today (and we are both paid employees and were both at our desks then and I don't know when Mike gets in in the morning but I'm in for 0730) and he didn't mention it, I assume this is news to both of us.

No "national" body has issued an "edict" on this.

If by BSC you mean BASC, yes you are probably right. Give the system a chance to work.

The DDM was also known as the services branch of the BDS. You either have to be in the services or employed by the MOD to be a member of this branch of the BDS. Because they have access to mainly MOD ground denied to others they operate under a very strict set of rules. I knew a couple of stalkers in the services that considered the rules to be a bit too restrictive so elected to be members of other branches and did not stalk on MOD land.

The obvious answer but some organisations tend to go looking for problems rather than resolving them.

yay! Stupidity reigns supreme. Home loads = accuracy. Factory loads generally aren't anywhere near as good. Let's all be cruel to the deer!

FFS. I get the insurance bit, but duff factory loads have been known as well, and at about the same frequency. Most reloaders do understand the concept of "this might kill me" and as such take care! Let's voluntarily regulate something that needs no regulation. God I hate this country.

I did my Level 2 DSC at King's Forest, Theford, under the Aegis of BASC and the Forestry Commission. It was the understanding of the Approved witness, previously a Forestry Commission employee, that home loads were banned by the Forestry Commission. With regards to insurance, my impression is that BASC offer their third party £10M cover to include anything related to shooting; this suggests reloading. Does anyone have any specific knowledge relating to this?
