The Armalon carbine has a fiddley little spring which seems to help hold the 9mm round against the bolt head. Anyway, if you use magnum loads, this will break.
They call them magnum , does it really mean anything or does it just sound good. More powerful 9MM loads are normally called +P or +P+, not magnums. I use blazer and find it reliable and accurate. £ 22 per 100.

There is still some L7A1 Hirtenberger kicking around, it's definately +p+ and it's incredibly accurate at 300yds

IF we were to take up paw loading, would it be possible to pop a big cast boolit, or maybe even something like a .338, into a 9x19 case and make a powerful subsonic round?

ITL usually have some out at the Bisley shows, it sells well though so they may have none left.

Dan what do you use the Heisenburg ammo with? I've seen 'unsafe to fire' notices on the net due to over-pressure but they relate to it's use in pistols. I'm very weary of putting some into an LR9 despite having as few boxes of it.

I do use it as Unicorn fodder, I bought a large quantity for our club and we have had zero issues in about half a dozen guns, all early Uzi versions. The warnings are more for unproofed US pistols.

Such pressure warnings used to be on the boxes of issue 2z 9mm.
Only for use in SMGs & Browning High Power pistols....or words of that ilk

I believe, and I may be wrong in this, that it was meant for use in Sterling SMGs in cold/arctic conditions.
