When I was ten years old I had a Webly senior, It was a great little pistol I recall I had difficulty in cocking it. It had very powerful spring.

What a lovely find, a careful wipe over with some oiled 0000 wire wool should soon return it to a reasonable and original condition.

Excellent find. I believe the steel grip ones were made from 1931-39 at the outbreak of the war.

That's true. The earlier ones had wooden grips. Later ones had bakelite and so on. A friend of mine who collects and sells vintage air pistols and firearms reckons they can go for between £175 to £250 (especially if the box is present). Certainly the £75 quid the dealer offered was an opportunist punt. You can reckon on at least double whatever a dealer offers.
