Yeah nature, nothing beats nature. Beautiful just as it is.
Please just leave the bumblebee where it is, does no harm, only good.

Bee colony numbers are significantly down due to a Bee virus however it is also hitting other countries. It is not the first time either, from memory our Bee colonies were all but wiped out just after the First World War.
This is why commercial Bee keepers will kill wild Bee colonies if they find them as they are known to carry all sort of nasty things.

OK so this is a cheat as it wasn't in our garden, but I like it :)

Heather has asked me to post these for her, she is on holiday in Cyprus at the moment. She says...
"I just tried to upload some photos to the forum but it immediately logged me off!! No idea what's happening as I can read posts & open links fine.
I thought they might like to see a few of the blooms from our garden out here. Please don't ask me what they are, I'm just glad they don't seem to mind being abandoned for most of the year!!
Can you put them up for me otherwise I'll forget by the time I get home."

BTW I've got a bumble bee nesting in an old bird box that's just been left under a chair next to my front door. Will this cause me problems. I haven't the heart to evict him/her.

Shouldn't cause you a problem, we had them nest in an old bird box on the kennel. I used to love seeing the going in and out. Pity but they never came back the next year or ever again. They would have been most welcome.
