BTW all sorted with the Police.
In a nutshell their record keeping wasn't up to scratch and they had now idea what authorities I had - don't know why they didn't have a copy of my FAC on file which would had cleared everything up straight away? Anyway I proved that I was correct but I had to ring them to find out as they weren't going to tell me otherwise.
