As it happens it is a CMMG, but I've bought a pin before I need one - what I'm actually desperate for is the extractor as mine broke.....

Not warranted yet - just slow service so far.......

I was going to grab a complete Cmmg spare part kit from the states at some point, perhaps a few others here might like one, we could club together?

There isn't much that's unique to a CMMG, so lower parts are standard apart from the BHOA (Bolt Hold Open Adaptor), the upper is standard AR, so the unique parts are the bolt and it's associated parts (well, also the gas deflector and dust cover too - but I've changed mine back to a full length dust cover and removed the gas deflector.

When I free floated my forend and I had the barrel off, it certainly looked possible to change the upper to a full bore barrel (the upper even has the port for the gas key / tube still open - not that I've looked at it on the offchance of WW3 / Zombies / Armageddon / Big comet or anything).

So the point I'm getting at is - I don't think you really need a complete spare parts kit from CMMG - and even so, they'd be firearms component parts and thus subject to ITAR so you'd need an export license and so on.

Better to "just" order a firing pin and extractor from sources in the UK that are compatible with the CMMG bolt (though I don't think they're too dissimilar to Ciener bolts) and get the rest of the parts from any UK source that are as per AR15 spec.

The Cmmg kit is just for their 22 bolt assembly.

I see Roger is using the CMMG uppers for his rimfire ARs.

If they're classed as gun parts, and the American authorities have some very strange ideasas to what does constitute a "gun part", then it can no longer be sent via the USPS system. That doesn't mean you can't get the stuff, just that shipping has to go via FedEx or UPS or such. Had a quote from UPS a little while ago and they wanted 113 dollars for a two pound parcel....

Postage/shipping is expensive these days.

They're a tad on the steep side! And slow. I ordered an A1 sight adjusting tool on 22 January. It didn't get shipped until 4th February and it's still not here. Total cost was £18.65 - of which £8.85 was postage. The tool is about an inch and a quarter long and weighs next to nothing. If you sent it in a small jiffy bag you could be forgiven for thinking it was empty. I'd have got if off Ebay cheaper but the only person selling the 5 x 5 stud tool won't ship anything outside of the USA for some reason.
