If you take the molten 'schlumb' and pour it into paper egg box dents they make excellent fire starters.

I have 10 kilos of clean wax sitting in my storage cupboard from my bees just waiting for some use.

Dumb sods are asking £95 for it

Refined wax runs about a pound sterling for an individual ounce or about £35 a kilo, less for bulk.

Cleaning it is not too bad but is energy and time intensive, Refining it much more so and generally beyond the average DIYer so £21 a kilo is not too bad.

There some very poor quality around that is cheaper but only good for smelly candles, not treating leather.

We use it on our cotton/linen thread, prior to sewing
