That's from the Jamie Uys film, Animals are Beautiful People. Most of it faked.
He must love the ratel as there's also one in his sequel to The Gods must be crazy. I suspect the same tame ratel as in previous film.
All these clips are making me homesick for the Namib.

The honeyguide actually leads man to bee hives, not badgers. I think the whole honeyguide and badger rumour was started by Uys and his fakery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honeyguide

I'm not sure about the Jamie Uys connection - this print is from 1845, which is a year or two before Jamie started his movie career ( ), so I suspect that there may be some truth to the Honey Guide-Ratel partnership. http://www.ssplprints.com/image/97358/h ... els-c-1845
Anyway, whatever the truth may be, the Ratel is definitely one pint-sized badass!

My fave animal.
I have a mug and T shirt to prove it
There was a hilarious proggie on the BBC called "Honey badger, master of mayhem", absolutely brilliant.
Incredibly intelligent creatures that don't know the meaning of "cant" or "no" or "wrong". Basically Paras with 4 legs, teeth and fur
You could just see the cogs whirring as the rescued badger in question (Stoffel) worked out how to escape from his pen.
The honey badger proof bee hives were honey badger proof for a matter of seconds (I reckon the bee keeper was a bit thick to be fair), but what really made me laugh was the fact that they go for the dangly bits
