Just to be a voice of dissent, I chopped the spring on one of my mags to see what would happen...
11 rounds capacity and it works perfectly (touch wood)

Helpful as ever And you did blatantly said "thats one of the first things i did" in an email exchange a few months back.Grima wrote:Ouch. Chopping the springs is not the answer.
Yeah so did mine, for about 3 matches but when you're using the gun to any reasonable extent the wear catches up on the chopped mag springs really quickly. If you just occasionally mess around with the gun you'll probably be alright for a lot longer.StangGT wrote:Just to be a voice of dissent, I chopped the spring on one of my mags to see what would happen...

I also said don't cut more than 2 steps of the mag spring, if you want to go down that path. So you cut 3 steps off 4 x magsBlackstuff wrote:Helpful as ever And you did blatantly said "thats one of the first things i did" in an email exchange a few months back.Grima wrote:Ouch. Cutting 2 coils off didn't alleviate the buckshot problem so i didn't really have a choice with 2 Level 3 matches using buckshot coming up.
Lessons learnt;
1/ Don't mess around with mags for semi-autos, ever.
2/ Use short bodied cartridges if your gun has this problem.
Hopefully, as i've shared this information, others can learn from my mistakes.
