Just to be a voice of dissent, I chopped the spring on one of my mags to see what would happen...
11 rounds capacity and it works perfectly (touch wood)

Yeah so did mine, for about 3 matches but when you're using the gun to any reasonable extent the wear catches up on the chopped mag springs really quickly. If you just occasionally mess around with the gun you'll probably be alright for a lot longer.

I also said don't cut more than 2 steps of the mag spring, if you want to go down that path. So you cut 3 steps off 4 x mags
can't say I didn't warn you.

Cutting 2 coils off didn't alleviate the buckshot problem so i didn't really have a choice with 2 Level 3 matches using buckshot coming up.

Lessons learnt;
1/ Don't mess around with mags for semi-autos, ever.
2/ Use short bodied cartridges if your gun has this problem.

Hopefully, as i've shared this information, others can learn from my mistakes. :good:
