I just read this book, and whilst the plot was good, and well worth the effort of putting it into print, the patriotic dewy eyed sentimentality gave me the boke.

Ditto. Some amazing yankeecentric tripe in there too.

Same again, I learned a lot and enjoyed it but the whole cult of the warrior thing was laid on a bit too thick.
