The 7N22 round adopted in 1999 was the serious armour-piercing round.The ban on the 7N6 by the ATF was a farce as they classified it as "armour-piercing" despite the steel core being mild steel , like a standard 54r or 7.62x39 core.......it is actually the 7N6(M) round that has an armour-piercing hardened steel penetrator but they tarred all 7N6 with the same brush.
