Actually this raises an interesting point, why does the new silencer not cycle the rifle with the same ammunition. As the rifle is of a simple blow back operation I can only assume the old silencer was gummed up enough to just add a little bit more resistance and accordingly back pressure allowing the action to cycle.

Sounds about right, so do you keep shooting the dirty mod or use the clean one with different ammo?

Be interesting to see what fps it is from some of the shorter UK barrels

...does it state the barrel length used for the data gathering?
May be a few fps per inch loss for shorter - though I recall reading years back that the optimum length for best velocity was 16"

They don't say on their page what barrel length was used, but there is also
http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/22.html not so helpful with sub loads.

I always recommend CCI subs as a starting point.

SK Pistol Match goes very very well through both my 10/22 (fettled but standard trigger group, 14.5" barrel) whether moderated or with the muzzle brake on and also suit the club buckmark well.
Subsonic in both.

This won't work in my 15-22.

I've had no particular problem putting sub-sonic ammo through various semi-autos - I think that normal 'target' ammo is sub-sonic to avoid stability issues around the sound barrier.
However I have had many problems using silencers on semi-auto's. There are two issues I think: firstly a reduced recoil impulse to operate the mechanism and secondly back-flushing of the exhaust gasses into the mechanism which builds up the crud very quickly. This is particularly noticeable on 10-22 magazines, which fail to operate very quickly if I'm using silencer.
