Much like the others on here I can get a good couple of thousand rounds of many different brands / variations of rimfire ammo, in my case the biggest issue I had was with the gen 3 magazines being terrible (the faux PMAG looking type ones). I switched to the Lantac mags which look like Black Dogs with a few tweaks and they were much much better. FWIW I can't stand the look of the M&P Mags at all so I didn't go down that route - but with the mag adaptor I certainily can't argue that they aren't uber reliable.

After that - the next reliability issue came with the BHOA (Bolt Hold Open Adaptor) it needed fitting to my gun as per the instructions and I just hadn't bothered by being stupid. After fitting (filing etc as per the CMMG provided instructions) it now functions perfectly.

Lastly, because I'm a tart I fitted an AXPS Raptor charging handle - which is great being ambi dextrous, however, due to it being meant for 5.56 / .223 AR's as opposed to 22LR's - means that now occasionally I get the odd brass case stuck in the upper - easy to clear but annoying none the less. There's a fix for this but I haven't done it yet.

Moral of the story - shoot your gun, get to know it, don't change anything too soon, research any mods and for the love of all that is holy get a trigger first before any other "performance" mod.

I cleaned my first one every 1K rounds or so. Never had an issue with it, sold it to my mate and he runs 2-3K through without an issue before he finally cleans it.

Current new rifle only has 600 rounds through it. Wiped most of the oil off when I got it home and no issues to report firing since. Also using the Boonie Packer adapter with 15-22 mags, my Magpul BAD lever works perfectly. Just don't smack the mags in, push them in and then pull to ensure they're seated correctly.

Similar experiences here. Actually tested this once and put 5,000 through without cleaning. Bolt was removed after shooting but kept filthy.

I use a catch 22 bolt catch and smith mags, they seat perfectly no matter how hard a slap they get and they fall free most of the time, if they don't they only need a "dynamic mag flip".

No need for a flip with the adapter, they fall free every time. The catch 22 uses a spacer on the front edge of the mag, the adapter doesn't as the front of the 15-22 mag is hard against the front of milspec magwell. The catch 22 is fine, but I like to mix and match my ARs so I can use different triggers and stocks sometimes, the catch 22 won't work with pmags so I've sold it on.

That's the problem with them, if you like to switch lowers they don't fit big boy uppers.

I have to agree regarding the "look" of the 15/22 mags - I have the CMMG looky likey pmag ones purely for the look. They do seem to function fine so far.

That said, I do get a lot of interest in the 15/22 mags and sell 3 times as many of those compared to CMMG type.

Using Eley Sport mostly. With some CCi Std last weekend.
Must admit, I keep mine clean. Probably because it's been ingrained for so long.
I've put about 150 through it tonight, the only reason I haven't wiped it down is because I'm shooting it again tomorrow.

All you guys who are running thousands of rounds between cleaning I assume you must be lubing occasionally, if so how often?

Never tried that !

Mine gets cleaned after every outing. Same for all my firearms, whether shotgun, centerfire rifle or rimfire.

And the lightest of lube after each clean on the rimfire.

Nope, no lube after the initial application of froglube (did the full heat the bits up thing) runs pretty dry.
