I'd say 10/22 too. There are so many parts out there that you can customise as much as you want, have it look how you want, and they are reliable.

We currently have a CZ452 here complete with 16" ish barrel, suppressor, 'scope and three magazines and there is no doubting the accuracy of such rifles, they are also super slick and seem to cope with just about any sort of ammunition. Very capable rifles to 150-200 yards which adds to the fun.

I must admit to having a liking for the original Browning SA-22 take down as well.

I'd go along with the above - especially now that Ruger is offering a drop-in trigger group that solves the one complaint I have about the 10-22 - the awful trigger.

I am glad you are pleased with it Chris and got your range day in.

I have a Sig 522 that I shoot standing offhand at 25m for a little light relief. Jolly good fun, eats absolutely any ammo, strips for cleaning in seconds and even with my poor shooting gets iron sight ten shot groups that fit comfortably within a British standard Jaffa cake. Just plain good fun.

Given that Jaffa cakes, along with most other confectionary, are smaller than they used to be that's pretty good shooting IMHO.
