Not sure why the SE Asian teams were so keen on that style of gun. At the time there were only really Saigas available, so maybe there was a Russian import problem? Or maybe some wacky gun legislation that didn't allow them to use detachable box mags? Either way judging by the photos from this years IPSC World Shotgun Championship it would seem that those detachable tube mag guns have gone the way of the dodo.
