Mark, my local RFD (ITL) has a huge pallet full of milsurp 54R and x39, these were the prices at the Trafalger.

To be a bit more precise on the Egyptian rounds...They were manufactured on August 27th 1973 at Factory 10, about 2 months before the Yom Kippur war.
Saddler, I'm in Mansfield, Notts..any idea as to how I get the rounds to you?
Snayperskaya - thanks for the info re the Yugoslavian rounds, interesting information and also interesting that someone knows that..bet google couldn't come up with that info

Give me a few days - I'll have a think...
We do the odd trip around the UK at various times for guinea pig shows & to visit relatives - so I'm happy to pay for them now & then we can arrange a time for collection that suits.
Ta for the kind offer - just typical that all the while my ticket is away being updated for the 7.62 the place is awash with the cheap Russian ammo in the 440-rd tins, then as soon as the paperwork is in my mitts the ammo dries up!
(Esp. as I have a trade account with the importer so would have had the ammo at an even bigger saving!)
The El-Cheapo Up-the-Workers/Power-to-the-People Coffee table project will also need to be reassessed if there are no more of the ammo boxes!!
That's the mother in laws planned Xmas pressie out the window...

No problem, I have had a couple of boxes of it myself and the writing is in Serbian Cyrillic script.It's not bad ammo to be fair and was quite consistent.The best stuff I've shot in the Dragunov was some Hungarian silver-tipped LPS, around 147gr, and was superb for milsurp ammo.I could cloverleaf three rounds at 100m but only had 70 rounds of the stuff and can't find any more of it anywhere, also had about 10 Hungarian yellow-tipped heavy ball which were also very good.
