Chain mine with bike chain through padlock and around central heating pipe.

I just phoned my FEO beforehand to discuss what he would be happy with and then had everything in place for his visit.
No problem.

I dont keep BP, just nitro but I keep it in a BP spec box....most of it anyway....
My FEO was only worried that I did not secure it so it could be easilly removed if there was a fire, it lives between me and the door.
I just painted it the same brown as an ammo box (and the door...colour coordinated or what?) and peeled an orange hazmat sticker off of one of the powder containers and stuck that on the box.
FEO was happy.....4 and a bit years ago.

So it's not a requirement in law, but you've done it anyway.
Thanks, when we all have to source boxes to put reloading powder in, I'm sure the wider FAC community will be delighted that 'Maggot' took the initiative.
There's one thing in particular that's going to screw shooting, and that's people making up unnecessary rules.

The local Fire Service will have been notified and have a record of you having an "explosives store". Ask their fire prevention officer for their views on securing the BP container to the building fabric. I'm thinking the answer will be don't, and use that advice to counter your FEO.

My fao didn't care that mine had handles
Only thing he said was that he would prefer if I secured it in some way to make it difficult to run off with (the reason being I live with students ie. Drunks people+ explosive equals a bad idea)
So I actually have it so a 4 mm steel cable runs though the lock and round the leg of a phone desk (so if someone really wanted to take it they could, but it would likely take them 10 minutes to do so)
