I must admit the little Voere does not look too bad and interestingly has not been screw cut either. Sadly the front and rear sight blades are missing so originals would be good to find. Also the bolt is an interesting thing, it looks like it can be locked in the forward position with a spring loaded knob so preventing the rifle from cycling, does anyone know why it has this feature?

Correct. The bolt can be locked, in effect turning it into a bolt action. The accuracy of a bolt action, also handy if your shooting ammo that won't cycle the action reliably and even quieter with a mod if the bolt is locked.

Did you see an improvement with the bolt locked forward? I assume you need to keep your finger on the spring loaded bolt knob to keep it locked or am I missing something?

Yes, slight improvement in accuracy at longer ranges with more consistent velocity. When I tuned my rifle to use Eley sub HP's I found the ES dropped from around 60fps to around 40fps when the breech was locked but didn't show any of the velocity increase I was expecting.
These rifles have very good quality barrels for a rather basic semi-auto - the trigger is probably the weakest link.

To lock the breech, you push in the spring loaded knob and turn it about half a turn. The knob is off centre on the shaft and forms a camming action.

It has been out and shot for the world by 4 people over a couple of hours. Everybody liked it and thought it performed really well.

It needs a good strip and clean and once that is done then it is out again to shoot it.

It does work as a bolt action when the button on the side is held in however that does mean one needs to cycle the bolt to shoot again. So much easier to keep it in semi-auto. Now one thing, it did not like the 15 mag, will have a look at that.

If only someone had a source of the very nice 10-rd magazines!

I remember using a Voere .22 semi a few years back.
Quite liked the option of clicking the bolt handle on to lock the action.

What I will add is in semi auto mode it is on par with a 452 heavy barrel we have here which is impressive, everyone who shot it commented on how accurate it was, all in all a lovely little rifle.
