GSG 1911

Re: GSG 1911
The placcy ones are fairly crap - but tbh my biggest problem with the gun was the squishy meatsack behind it. Once I'd actually managed to zero the thing (that was a faff) and put some effort in - it now groups reasonably well at 20 yards (circa 2 to 3")
I was looking for Novak cut sights for mine but needing ones that cleared the faux moderator - well that slims your choice right down - I hope the OP has considered that?
Second problem I had was the slide stop activating with rounds left in the mag - a new part FoC from Edgar Brothers sorted that.

Shoot it without the fake moderator on! Lightens the gun, quickens the draw
Myself and a couple of others who have these have had thread protectors made to 'complete' the barrel (and obviously protect the threads!)

But that wouldn't look right when I'm pretending I'm doing some 'wet' work for a sneaky government TLA

On the subject ... are there actually such things as holsters produced from those LBP GSG ? or do competitors use "cottage" mod ones ?
as you can tell I know nothing about LBP

Competition holsters like Ghost and Double Alpha are minimalist and only hold the gun by the trigger guard so the barrel/coat hanger don't come into it:froggy wrote:Shoot it without the fake moderator on! Lightens the gun, quickens the draw

Combat/duty holsters are a different ball game. One of my mates, who's a cheapskate modded a SERPA holster by basically cutting a channel down the front of it so the barrel can pass through

They won't export to individuals the UK, or anywhere outside the States for that matter. Not even Canada. Couple of options open to you is if you have a friend in the States who'd like to send you an early birthday "gift" or contact Adam at Aw Armoury who has an import agreement with CWA (when he gets back from Florida in 3 weeks) and see if he'll add it to his CWA catalogue. http://www.aw-armoury.co.uk/gsg-1911-74-c.aspAirbrush wrote:I'm thinking of getting some from here for mine.

That's interesting Clive as it says they do international shipping at the top of the page, I was going to ask Adam if he could get them in.sharps4065 wrote:They won't export to individuals the UK, or anywhere outside the States for that matter. Their site says they will...

One of your options is illegal and could see the sender get some serious prison time.
Adam would be the preferred option anyway. He's done the legwork and then makes its easy. By the time you figure in shipping and customs and handling charges, it's not going to workout that much cheaper.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

CWA did export some things as I got my first set of +4 followers and extra magazines from them direct last year. Postage was surprisingly reasonable from the states. That was when no one in the UK had any stock.
More recently I've had parts from Adam at AW Armoury and these people:-

Easier to buy from UK suppliers and excellent service from both.
