I have got a photocopy of the operating instructions for 731.B I will pop it in the post. I had a look through it paragraph 6 refers to the MEMOFIX option Allan has written above the paragraph in big letters. DONT USE. I have no idea why. He will have a reason I guess. I will ask one of the other guys to morrow they might know they all use the Bridgeport Mill.

Alpha1, good to hear you are using the same DRO at work so I know where to come when I get confused!
I keep reading up on the Memofix function and I am still not totally convinced I know what it is for, unless it is reference dimension input as you would on a lathe for a diameter.
