An AirArms 410 would be ideal and possibly the Carbine which shortens the barrel. There is also an Ultralite variant which has a Poplar stick rather than Walnut or Beech which further reduces the weight.

As with all PCPs - very little kick so ideal for a youngster.

Thanks for the advice but the AirArms, while looking like a quality rifle is WAAAY out of my budget.....

Need to keep it under the £150 to £180 mark or the wife and I will be having another discussion **** **** about the youngster shooting lol

Drop me a pm with some ideas of type/make/model that may suit.
Scottish airguns are being dumped faster than ginger babies.

Happy to put the word out & see who's l got what in need of a new owner.
It'll be a "no cost" deal & if there's no scope on whatever turns up I'll have one I can add to it.
