How about the Anshutz multi purpose rifle http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.ph ... how=detail

Or how about the HPS/CZ 452 route similar to the HPS cadet rifle but using the existing stock. https://www.hps-tr.com/en/target-rifles-stocks

HW66 Jagdmatch (target version of the HW60) or Finnfire Range (target version of the P94S)...can't go wrong with either IMO. Personally, I use the Range for benchresting out to 100yds with Eley Edge, though the heavier Contacts are showing good results at the 100yd mark. And if I use it for field work, I swap out the stock for a spare Varmint I have to lighten the load and not scuff up the wonderful Range woodwork. Plus I use a weaver rail and swap out the meaty BR scope for a lower power lighter unit with better light gathering at dusk + FOV. And it's already zero'd for lapua HPs, which it loves. Cha-Ching!

We'd suggest taking a look at an Izhmash Biathlon .22

http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/sh ... p?t=156929

We have one and find it extremely accurate when shot from a rest, well up to club competition standard, and light enough to carry round the field in case you need to pop off Farmer Giles' waistcoat buttons. They can be obtained in fancy stocks too but the basic stock is quite good enough. It has a heavy, hammer forged barrel with an excellent, deep crown cut for a moderator (threaded muzzle protector supplied) and the toggle lock action is pretty awesome. It can be manipukated very quickly without disturbing the point of aim.

Never heard of an Izhmash and a quick google shows nothing about their availability in the UK :-(

Cz452 'tactical' could be another option, if it hasn't been mentioned already? But I cannot personally vouch for them, but as mentioned above, cz does have a good rep :) lithgow have also brought out a new range of rimmies, which have also been reported as a good buy, albeit a tad pricey!

I'm tempted to try a 452/455 varmint.

Excellent rifles. 452 gets my vote.
