How is it not a good illustration? It is a visual comparison of the burn rate of two powders tested under the same circumstances? Please educate me how blackpowder burn rate does not change under compression yet the burn rate of smokeless powder does change under compression.
From my understanding modern smokeless powder contains chemicals designed to control the rate of burn.
Also, with the notion that smokeless powder has a different burn rate under contained pressure, why is there a requirement for storage of blackpowder but not for smokeless powder?
