I have the same problem.

I have a spare .22 slot. Got the main disciplines I shoot covered.

Initially was thinking of something historic nothing has jumped out at me yet.

Czech Small Arms. There are a few on trader. Scott from Caledonian had one on his stand at the Northern Shooting show.

Try a 'Classic' rifle such as a BSA or Winchester pump action and go for some 'classic' comps or the Running Boar at Bisley.

One of our club members has the .22 version of every type of rifle that Lee Enfield made. He also has the .303 equivalent of each one.
