I've messaged keepshooting to see if they can post, as they aren't itar, but i think i know the answer already

Vertebrae replied, not very helpful;
Hi,

It will be insanely expensive, truth to be told. First we would need export license from the US to Norway complete with export agent fee, then shipping to Norway, then import charges to Norway, then shipping to the UK, where you would have to pay both duty and VAT since Norway is not in the EU.

nice of them to decide what is too expensive for me. does anyone know if you pay duty / vat on the export license, fees and total shipping? or would you just be paying VAT on the items price and shipping from norway to the UK?

reply from vertebrae

Hi Stuart,

As far as I know, ITAR does not distinguish between number of rounds in a mag. Weapons tech is weapons tech, no matter the capacity.

Cost estimate:
2x Steyr: 80 USD (no dealer agreement, have to pay market price)
3x P9S: 75 USD (no dealer agreement, have to pay market price)
Shipping within US: 15 USD
Total: 170
Agent fee: 17 USD (10%)
Shipping to Norway: 20 USD
Total when arriving in Norway: 207 USD = approx 1745 NOK
Import charge in Norway: 150 NOK
Total: 1895 NOK
Vertebrae fee: 284 NOK (15 %)
Shipping to the UK: 120 NOK Airmail or 350 NOK registrered shipping
Total: 2179 NOK (approx £204) plus shipping

You will have to check with HM Revenue and Customs regarding whether you have to pay duty and VAT, but I strongly suspect you do.

This is very much dependent on no unforeseen costs, no need for an extension of our US export license and current currency exchange values.

so £260 ish inc VAT and parcel farce fees, £50 a mag

Stupid question but have you tried to order direct from MidwayUS, seeing as there is no MidwayUK anymore presumably they can't use that as an excuse anymore?
