A handy tip is get the chargers polished and nickel plated, they transform speed loading for service rifle competitions. I borrowed a couple of polished and plated ones for my P14 and was impressed at the difference it made.

A good buffing with Zebrite works for me.

Actually that is a handy tip and not only do I know what Zebrite is, I even have some in the workshop however I have never tried buffing charger clips with it. I will give it a try sometime.

The Mosin nagant clips I use are of the same way. Top rim over bottom rim descending. Although with the Mosin clips you cant get away with just a firm push with your thumb, it is best to angle up the top bullet with your index finger and push down with your thumb - cut my thumb many times on my rusty clips !
