If this works may give it a try this winter with my BMW it gets really cold in the North west hills (Rochdale)

The Picture shows a Focke Wolf 190 Engines of the early ones were Juncker Jumo radials.

The Junkers Jumo wasn't a radial engine, and the Jumo 213 version was an inline liquid cooled inverted V12 engine that was used in the long nosed, high performance Fw190D version that entered, limited, Luftwaffe service in late 1944.

With the inverted The Daimler-Benz fitted to the Messerschmitt 109 in very cold weather
they would add fuel to the oil on landing to keep it thin so making it easier
to turn over, this saves them warming the engines at intervals and would
evaporate away as the engine warmed up ready for takeoff.
The Messerschmitts used in the film Battle of Britain were in fact Hispano HA-112 MIL (Buchon
the give away is that they were fitted with RR Merlins so the exhausts exit along to top of the
cowle not the bottom as in the Daimler-Benz fitted aircraft.

Sorry schoolboy error or post retirement dementia comments on the FW engines
Early production had the BMW radial later had the Jumo Inline
