Not always, Cast Boolits and gallery loads can be in the .22 cost range if you load your own.

No, your correct.

But this guy hasn't picked up a gun before, don't suppose he is going to be loading his own stuff quite yet.

.22 rifles can be had for less than a night at the pub.

Ammo is cheap and plentiful

You need to watch these guys Krum, they'll get you started with a little gentle .22 stuff, just like a free sample from your local dealer, before you know it you're past the point of no return, three cabinets on the wall and the spare room taken over for all your reloading gear. :)

^^ This..

But I have yet to pay more the 400 quid for a rifle and 4 of my favourites cost less than 100..

But, I now have 12 and three cabinets as well as a shed full of reloading gear.. a slippery slope indeed :-)

Hahaha I can already see it happening. The guy on the next lane tonight had a huge revolver. That was bloody noisy but looks like fun. :D :p I've also never even considered black powder until the other day when it was being talked about. Loud, smokey and messythats the ticket. Haha 2 visits in and I already have 8 on my mental list. helpsign

Ain't that the truth.

Still, on the bright side, there is usually more opportunity to fire .22lr than there is to fire the bigger stuff. :D
Opposite for me, I'm actually thinking of chopping in my .22 slot for another full-bore as I just don't get the opportunity to shoot the .22 enough 8-)

Well I tried out a .357/38 underlever, that was great fun, even if I couldn't hit the inside of a barn. wtf haha and I think I'm getting the hang of the .22 thanks to some nice tips on triggering and breathing.

It's just practice, practice, practice now. And hopefully get onto the next outdoor shoot and try the bigger stuff.
