A 200 or 300 Tdi Defender running on Bio would be an option.

Not correct I'm afraid. EMP's work by creating enormous magnetic fields which induce large currents in any wiring which cause them to short out or melt. Switching them off won't make a difference.

Bring back the Citroen BX 1.9D (+ a can of Quickstart)..............I'm pretty sure I'd still be driving mine if it hadn't been for some t*@t.............

Any old Diesel that has a cable that pulls a lever on the pump to stop it,
it can also be run on paraffin, jet fuel or cooking oil if needs must.

Years ago I did two years mechanics training at a commercial vehicle dealers and they had a Bedford TM recovery truck that had a V8 Detroit Diesels two-stroke diesel engine in it, before that they had a Diamond T that had been used in WW2 for recovering tanks.My old man worked there and when I was little I can remember going on jobs with him in the Diamond T if he got called out at night, I used to go with him as my mum worked nights in a hospital at the time......happy days :)

Aaah, Detroits…………..happy memories...……..we had V12 Turbo & supercharged 600hp. ; not to mention the Rolls Royce K60's
